Synopsis & Storyline of Human Capital (2015):
Being situated in a town in Brianza and in Milan, mostly on the night previous the night of Christmas, “Human Capital” is a type of movie that inflicts the importance of its title into every sub synopsis, then refers to it in an onscreen heading at the end, just to assure you to get it. Inevitably “American Beauty, Italian Style,” with a similar “Ah, beautiful magical mystery of life!” score and an astutely scrambled timeline, this ensemble drama regarding problematic upper-middle class strivers is verbose, confident, and rather vacant and structurally more self-defeating than shrewd.
The script slips back and forth along a timeline, always coming back to the script’s mid crowded place; a private school student provides ceremony/dinner after which a waiter is attacked by a car while bicycling home. This is probable serve as a Macguffin, stoking a notion of mystery and presumption: Which person (or persons) strikes the waiter? Why didn’t they slop to it? How to they make scheme to avoid punishment?
